How To Measurement

Here's a basic dress measurement guide that you can use to take accurate measurements for ordering or making dresses. Keep in mind that having someone help you with the measurements can lead to more accurate results. Additionally, make sure to use a flexible measuring tape and wear lightweight clothing while taking measurements.

1.Bust:

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust, under your arms and across your shoulder blades. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight.

2.Waist:

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above your belly button. Again, keep the tape snug but not overly tight.

3.Hips:

Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. This is usually about 7-9 inches below your waist. Ensure the tape is parallel to the ground.

4.Length:

Stand upright with your feet close together, measuring while barefoot. Start at the crown of your head and extend the tape measure vertically down to the ground.

5.Waist to Hem:

For dresses with a defined waist, measure from your natural waistline to the desired hemline.

6.Shoulder Width:

Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other shoulder. Make sure the tape is positioned at the base of your neck.

7.Arm Length:

Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your wrist. Keep your arm slightly bent while measuring.

8.Neck Circumference:

Measure around the base of your neck, where your collar would normally sit.

9.Sleeve Length:

For dresses with sleeves, measure from the shoulder seam down to the desired sleeve length. If measuring on yourself, bend your arm slightly.

10.Upper Arm Circumference:

Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm.

11.Lower Arm Circumference:

Measure around the fullest part of your forearm, just below your elbow.

Also, when measuring, try to stand naturally with good posture, as this will give you the most accurate measurements for a well-fitting dress. If you're unsure about any measurements, it's always a good idea to consult us or dressmaker for guidance.
